He finished graduation from SSMC, TUMKUR, post-graduation Diploma from MMC, Mysore and had a good fortune to be trained as a DNB candidate under the legendary surgeon of North Karnataka Padmashree Awardee Dr. M. M. Joshi, Hubli.
He served the under privileged area of north Karnataka at Lions Eye Hospital, Koppal between 2000 and 2001 and honed his skills.
He continued his services at Rotary Eye Hospital, Arsikere from 2001 to 2010 besides having a flourishing private practice. He was the most sought after surgeon in Hassan District before his hometown Doddaballapur beckoned him. By then he already had 10,000 eye surgeries under his belt. He had already conducted over 400 free eye camps, outreach eye screening camps in surrounding villages besides many school screening programs.
He has updated his surgical skills to give best of services. He underwent DCR Surgery Training under Dr. Srikrishna Dhage of Karad, Maharashtra. His enthusiasm continued in getting trained in the state of the art technique of Cataract Surgery, Phaco Emulsification, Glaucoma and Medical retina training.
He was actively involved in eye collection center at Arsikere. He started the Dr.Rajkumar eye collection center in association of Narayana Nethralaya,Bangalore. This center at Dodballapur is the first such center at taluk level in India to have crossed 1000 eyes collection.
His social works has been recognized by many social organizations and has received many awards. The prominent among them are facilitation by Union minister for health, Hon.Dr.Harshavardhan and Kannada Sahithyaparishad, BharathJyothi award, VydhyaRathna award.
His passion to deliver the best of eye care motivated him to establish a super specialty eye hospital in Yelahanka New Town with a team of experienced doctors and modern facilities.
He is an active member of Glaucoma society of India.
His area of interest includes Glaucoma and community services.
