He completed his MBBS and post graduation Diploma from Government Medical College, Mysore. He was trained as a DNB candidate under legendary surgeon,Padmashree awardee, M.M.Joshi, Hubli.
He started his career serving the at Lion's Eye Hospital,Koppal in 2001. Then continued for a good part of the next 14 years till 2015 at Solanki Eye Hospital,Malleswaram,Bangalore.During this tenure as a Director of Project Drishti project, he was fortunate to have done over 1 lakh cataract surgeries mainly free cases from all over Karnataka.
This was the time when he could spread his passion in cataract by training more than 1000 doctors in different types of cataract surgeries like SICS (small incision cataract surgery) and the advanced phacoemulsification.Among his students were, more than 200 doctors were from othercountries including Germany ,Austria, Switzerland and USA. He is among very few surgeons in Bangalore to have accomplished these numbers in training doctors and have crossed 1 lakh cataract surgeries. He had the good opportunity to do surgeries in the underserved areas of Cambodia and Philippines through Rotary Club of Singapore.
Meanwhile he is actively involved with developing the centers of Abhishek Nethradhama at Yelahanka and Doddaballapur. He is the main cataract surgeon at these 2 centers handling most of high end cataract surgeries &complicated Phaco surgeries since 2010. He is also playing the role of supporting surgeon at Arsikere branch.
Since 2015 he hasalso taken up the role of chief surgeon at Zamindar Eye Hospital, NethraDrishti Eye Hospital,Magadi Road and Drishtisuperspecialitycentre at Channapatna. His area of interest is cataract and an expert in No injection, Topical Phaco and MICS surgeries. He is specialized in multifocal and Toric IOL.
He believes in continuing and improvising his good work at Abhishek Nethradhama.
